Halloween in Frederick

Things are getting spooky around here.  We have lots of activities going on this weekend for Halloween—everything from Trunk or Treat to Okiefest.  If you have children I suggest dressing them up and taking them down to the First Baptist Church/Methodist Church parking lot for a whole lot of trunk or treating.  There will be lots of cars parked with lots of candy and kids are safe to roam around, visit with neighbors and show off their costumes.

After Trunk-or-Treat you can walk right up the street to Main Street’s OKIEFEST event, which will begin at 6pm between the streets of 9th and Main on Grand.  This year’s musical talent consists of several bands around the area including No Render from Davidson and Wayward Blue from Frederick.  This event is great for all ages because there will be contests, food, games and more!

Throughout the week of Halloween, the Frederick FFA will continue selling their sausage, ham and turkey and the FHS Choir will be competing in All-State competitions.  You can support your high school students by cheering them on in all of their activities.

So find something fun to do this weekend and don’t forget, we’ll have Cotton Festival next weekend at the Courthouse from 11am-3pm.  It’s not too late to sign up for chili or vendor spots!  http://frederickokchamber.org/cotton_fest.html
